Rams run win streak to nine

  Justin Bruce, left, pitched a complete-game shutout on Thursday when Willow Glen clinched a least a share of the Mount Hamilton League title with a 6-0 win over Leland at home on Thursday.

  It was the fifth shutout of the season for Bruce, the junior ace who improved his record to 8-0 this season.

  Bruce has allowed only three earned runs in 50 innings pitched this season.

  Willow Glen is 14-3 in the Mount Hamilton League and leads second-place Pioneer by four games with four left to play.

  Willow Glen plays Aptos in the semifinals of the Leland tourney at Leland on Monday. The Rams can clinch the league title if they can beat Westmont at home on Wednesday.
